Sunderland striker Fabio Borini says Sunderland's crunch relegation six-pointer at Fulham is more important than their Capital One Cup win against Manchester United
Sunderland may be 90 minutes from Wembley, but Fabio Borini insists this weekend's trip to Fulham is more important thantheir Capital One Cup semi-final.
For all their cup exploits, Sunderland's home league defeat against Aston Villa on New Year's Day means they are still propping up the table, and they go to relegation rivals Fulham on Saturday in need of a win to boost their chances of Premier League survival.
Borini said: "I think the Fulham game is bigger [than the semi].
"For me, it's bigger because it's more important to stay up.
"The Aston Villa game was really disappointing because we needed to keep going with positive results and keep them close to us.
"But we've got another chance against Fulham, who are very close to us.
"It's a good advantage to take to Old Trafford. But we don't need to win just these games against the big teams.
"It's the games that count for three points which are important for us, starting on Saturday."
