BETTING ODDS - FULHAM v LIVERPOOL |
Fulham return to Loftus Road, after their dream victory at Man Utd last weekend, and welcome Liverpool. Previously meeting Man Utd and Liverpool in quick succession would have meant two defeats and would have thrown The Cottagers into a depression that could have lasted another 4 or 5 games.
Not so since the arrival of Chris Coleman as Manager who has shown that The Cottagers are the equal of any squad in the Premiership. Fulham have lost just 2 games this season and are 5th in the Premiership while Liverpool have lost 4, three of them in the last four games, and are 10th in the Premiership.
On the form and stats Fulham must be expected to win this game. The question is, can they replicate the form that took them to victory at Manchester or will they wobble as they did against Newcastle and Wolves. The lack of vitality against Newcastle and Wolves means that at the moment Fulham's home form, L, D,W,D,W, is worse than their away form, W,W,D,W,L. Liverpool have lost their last two away league games after beating a desperate 10 man Blackburn 3-1 although they did win again, 4-3 away in the League Cup, at 10 man Blackburn on Wednesday. Shipping three goals in that match indicates worrying defensive problems for Houllier's Scoucers.

Referee for the game |
Despite the stats The Bookies are betting against a Fulham win presumably believing that The Cottagers will be suffering from some sort of post victory exhaustion and that the Merseysiders will be buoyed up by their flaky away win, at Blackburn in the League Cup, on Wednesday. More interestingly the Betfair exchange users are also selling Fulham. Do they know something we don't? Me I will be taking the 9/5 on offer at Hills for another Fulham victory

The obsession with Michael Own has ensured that, depending on your fancy, a number of Fulham players are large prices against scoring the first goal. It seems that the Bookies are not being careful enough as 25% of Fulham's goals have been scored in the first 10 minutes of a game and that indicates planning to create early goal opportunities. Fulham have scored first in 7 of their 10 league games. Will it be Clark, 16/1 at Ladbrokes, Saha, 7/1 at Ladbrokes, Boa Morte, 8/1 at Ladbrokes, or Malbranque, 9/1 at Hills.
