Louis Saha will run a gauntlet of anger from Fulham fans when he turns out for Manchester United at Loftus Road tomorrow.

Team mate Luis Boa Morte revealed that none of Saha’s former team-mates blame the Frenchman for the tantrums he threw to seal his £12.8million move.

And Boa Morte admitted: “I hope the fans give him a good reception — but it is unlikely to be like that.

“I understand they are upset because he has been our main scorer.

“He was playing so well and helping us to the next level, to the European spots in the league.

“Fans never want their best player to leave. They got angry about the move and the way it happened.”

But Boa Morte pleaded with the supporters, saying: “They have to realise what it is like when a chance like that comes along.

“For Louis, it was perfect timing and he knew United may not want him at the end of the season.

“Louis always worked hard and I just hope the supporters remember what he did for the club.

“They should do because he gave everything while he was here.”

Boa Morte was Saha’s closest friend at Fulham.

And the Portuguese striker added: “Louis was very popular on the training ground and we are all happy for him and not at all surprised by how well he has done in Manchester.

“He took a lot of criticism when he left Fulham, but not from the players.”

Saha scored three goals in his first two matches for his new club. But he will be ineligible when Fulham face United again in their FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford next week.
