The chase for Fulham midfielder Luis Boa Morte is hotting up with both Newcastle and Middlesbrough reportedly renewing contact with the London club this week.

While Newcastle and Middlesbrough have been told that Boa Morte will not be sold for less than £6 million they will be trying to do a deal for no more than £5 million.

The start of Premiership action is just around the corner so the pressure is on both sides to get a deal sorted out by the coming week.

Since their last unsuccessful bid Newcastle have given former Fulham captain Lee Clark a short term contract. They may hope a familiar face will help Boa Morte to be more positive about a move up North.

If a deal is done it will be a bitter disappointment to fans, who have enjoyed the Portuguese International's unstoppable runs down the wing, but Fulham decided sometime ago to get their finances in order and that means selling players.
