The appointment of former Fulham First Team Coach Billy McKinlay at Real Sociedad has added further Scottish influence to David Moyes's coaching staff.

Moyes, who made Sociedad his first club since Manchester United a fortnight ago, took charge of his first game on Saturday when they drew 0-0 with Deportivo La Coruña.

He has now added the experienced McKinlay as his assistant coach, with the 45-year-old confirmed in the role on the club's official website.

A former Scotland midfielder, McKinlay served on the coaching staffs of Fulham and Northern Ireland while he also had a brief spell in charge of Watford this season.

Sociedad's website added that McKinlay completed Moyes' staff, which also consists of the coach Asier Santana, strength coach, Karla Larburu, and goalkeeping coach, Roberto.

Billy McKinlay was signed for Fulham in the summer 2004, by Chris Coleman, to be mainly used to bolster the reserve side and help with the coaching. He went on to become first team coach under Martin Jol and left Fulham the day after Jol departed.
