Jarred Gillett is a 33 year old Australian referee who has been officiating for 10 years. He has now become the first foreign referee to work in the EFL.
Gillett joined the Select Group 2 in England at the start of the 2019/20 season after taking up a post-doctoral research position at Liverpool John Moores University, where he will specialise in research on children with cerebral palsy.
He was promoted to the Select Group 1 referees list in August 2021 and refed his first Premiership game, between Watford and Newcastle United, in September 2021.
Ref Gillett last refed Fulham at the beginning of February when we lost away at Man City in the FA Cup. Fabio Carvalho scored our goal and only one player was booked and that was a City player.
Mr Gillett also refed us back in November 2021 in our
7-0 away win at Blackburn . He yellow carded two players and sent off a third in the 30th minute, all from the Blackburn team. Neeskens Kebano scored two, Aleksandar Mitrovic scored one, Harry Wilson scored two and Rodrigo Muniz scored two.
Earlier in the season, 21/22, he bossed our 3-0 home win against Stoke City in August 2021. He only booked one player, Ben Wilmot of Stoke. Harry Wilson, Bobby Decordova-Reid and Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the goals.
Mr Gillett's first ever Fulham game was the 1-0 away win at Swansea City in November 2019. Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the only goal and was one of the five players booked, three from the Swansea team with Cyrus Christie being the fifth player booked.
Mr Gillett last refed a Peterbourgh United game in October 2021 when they beat QPR 2-1. Nobody got booked.
Last season Mr Gillett refed 32 Football League games and dished out 103 yellows and 3 reds, so an average 3.2 yellows per game.
Mr Gillett's busiest games so far are last year's Play Off Semi Final 2nd Leg between Brentford and Bournemouth when he booked 3 players from each team and sent off a Bournemouth player in the 28th minute. He also booked seven players in the Watford 1-1 draw with Newcastle in September 2021, his first Premiership game..
