Referee Peter Walton
From Winwick, Northamptonshire
Peter Walton started his career in 1986, getting promoted to the Football League Assistant Referee's list in 1993, where he enjoyed one season before being promoted to a Premiership League Assistant Referee (1994).
He then progressed on to FIFA as an Assistant Referee in 1996, and in the same season he assisted on the FA Cup Final before officiating in the Euro 96 Championships.
In 1998 he became a Referee in the Football League, giving him an opportunity to boss his first Fulham game, at home to Colchester in Division 2, how far we have come, and in 2003/2004 he was one of the new additions to the Premiership Select Group of officials.
Mr Walton has reffed 6 Fulham Premiership games in the last six seasons and in those games he has issued 20 cards, 13 of them against Fulham players. He has consistently given more yellow cards to Fulham players whether the games have been away (3 to 7)or at home(6 to 4). Fulham have won 3 and lost 3 of his games, the three defeats were home games against Man Utd, Arsenal and the way game at Hull.
Referee Stats - 2008/2009
|
Ref Walton is now in his sixth full year as a Premiership ref.
Apart from refusing us a pens against Orient, in a Cup game, and Man Utd in the
Premiership Mr Walton has avoided controversal decisions so far and his stats show that he is keeping his head down in all aspects of his match work. Hopefully he has a good game on Friday.
