Edwin van der Sar could be a cut-price target for his old club Ajax.
The Fulham goalkeeper, who is still Holland's No1, will be the subject of a £1million bid by the European Cup quarter-finalists this summer.
Van der Sar, 32, arrived at Fulham ng in a £7m switch from Juventus in 2001.
The 6ft 7in giant was told by boss Jean Tigana he would be the first of a series of superstar signings.
But the money dried up at Fulham, who are now homeless and struggling for Premiership survival with Tigana leaving the club next month.
Van der Sar won the European Cup with Ajax in 1997 and is keen to return to European competition next season.
He is one of Fulham's top earners on £20,000 a week and chairman Mohamed Fayed, now a tax exile in Switzerland, wants reductions in the wage bill.
Ajax want Van der Sar to boost their ambitions of returning to Europe's elite.
