Fulham loan defender Pierre Wome has signed for Espanyol after the Cameroon ace snub the overtures of VFB Stuttgart to move to Spain.

Wome arrives at Montjuic on a free transfer from
Bologna after spending last season on loan at
                        Premiership outfit Fulham.

The left back has signed a two-year contract with
Espanyol and confirmed the deal was signed and sealed.

"I have reached an agreement and everything is
                        closed," stated Wome.

The African was delighted to link up with Espanyol
and a chat with coach Javier Clemente reassured him he
                        was making the right decision.

German side Stuttgart also offered Wome a deal but
despite the prospect of Champions League football, the
defender wanted to test himself in La Liga.

He added: "I wanted to speak with the coach because
the knowledge of what he wanted from me was important.
The situation at the club was explained to me.

"To come to Montjuic is an advanced step in my career
because I will participate in a league full of stars.

"There was the possibility of a move to Stuttgart,
who will play in the Champions League, but in this club
                        I can grow more."
