Wolves are planning to appeal to the FA after they were handed a £75,000 fine for poor discipline.
The club have incurred a fine after receiving more than six yellow cards in their last two Premier League games against Fulham on Saturday and Newcastle United before the international break.
Clubs are fined £25,000 for totalling up more than six bookings in a match and the sanction is doubled if they repeat the offence.
However, Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has defended his side and says they were 'hurt' after they were branded by Fulham fans a 'disgrace to the Premier League'.
"That does hurt me. I think it is grossly unfair," he was quoted as saying by the Express & Star.
"I've seen it all develop from the Newcastle game which was highlighted on television.
"That was a tough old game and suddenly we're this devil incarnate of the Premier League, but we're far from it.
"We compete and we do it fairly. But I don't see us as some dirty, over-physical team that deserves that sort of label."
Referee Phil Dowd handed out no less than seven yellow cards to Wolves players against Fulham, including two to Christophe Berra in a match which also saw Fulham's Bobby Zamora being stretchered off with a broken leg.
But McCarthy feels that the media have misrepresented his team.
"After the Newcastle game a lot was made of us on the TV and in the media, and that happens," he said.
"I think it becomes media-driven and I think that perception affects officials and fans.
"I think the worst two tackles of this game were on Karl Henry and Steven Fletcher after Fulham went 2-1 ahead."
Wolves will write to the FA and underline their previous good disciplinary record through use of statistics from previous seasons in the hope that they can have the fine overturned.
They finished 11th in the Premier League's Fair Play League last season while only receiving three red cards.
