Fulham assistant boss felt that his side were hard done by as West Ham snatched a point from the penalty spot.
The Frenchman admitted that Dermot Gallagher was right to penalise Sylvain Legwinski for handball, but insisted the corner that led to the incident should never have been given.
"We're disappointed about the penalty because, before the corner-kick which led to it, there was a huge foot on Maik Taylor," said Damiano.
"It was a penalty because it was handball - but before that, there was a great, great foul committed on Maik. That's very strange and, at this level, that's bad."
The win eased some of the pressure that has built up on Jean Tigana and Damiano felt his side were well worth the point - stand-in keeper Taylor catching the eye in particular.
"The draw was the minimum for us today as we pushed and tried to take risks," he said. "It was a good game and Maik Taylor played very well."
