- Only three seasons ago, West Brom were a Division higher than Second
Division Fulham. But Premiership new-boys Fulham start as clear favourites,
having spent heavily since then. £30 million has been spent this season
compared with just £2 million by Megson's Baggies.
- West Brom last won the Cup in 1968, when Albion favourite Jeff Astle
scored the winner in the final. Astle sadly passed away earlier this
year, aged 59.
- Albion's highly-rated full-back Neil Clement began his career with
Fulham's great rivals Chelsea. He is the club's top scorer in this competition
with two - both penalties - and will be extra keen to add to his tally
in this one.
- A single goal could well be enough to take either team through to
the last four. Since they won 2-1 at Sunderland in round three, seven
of West Brom's next 10 games finished 1-0 - and on six of those occasions,
Megson's team ran out winners.
- When Albion defeated Fulham in 1968/69 they then knocked out both
Arsenal and Chelsea before losing in the semis to Leicester.
- Have gone 10 home games without defeat - 8 D1, 2 FAC (8wins, 2 draws)
- Won 10 of last 14
- 1 draw in last 11
- 2 defeats in last 5
- Failed to score in 2 of last 5 games
- 9 clean sheets in last 12
- West Brom - the only club outside the Premiership still in the competition
- are aiming to repeat history. The Baggies, who qualified for the Quarter-finals
for the first time in 20 years, are the only club ever to win the Cup
and gain promotion in the same season - 1930/31.
- Albion lifted the Cup for the fifth time in 1967/68. They are aiming
to reach the semi-finals for the 20th time
- Albion's last win in the Quarter-finals was 2-0 at home to Coventry
in 1981/82
- West Brom have had the more impressive run to the last eight with
straight victories over Sunderland (away), Leicester (home) and Cheltenham
(home).
- Albion have not lost at home in the F.A. Cup Sixth Round since 1884/85
when Blackburn won 2-0.

- Fulham, 12 places above their Midlands opponents on the League ladder,
have never won the Cup but were runners-up in 1974/75 when they lost
2-0 to West Ham in the final. That was also the last time they qualified
for the Quarter-finals.
- Fulham are aiming to reach the semi-finals for the 6th time.
- Fulham's last win in the Quarter-finals was 0-1 away at Carlisle
in 1974/75
- Fulham needed a replay to knock out Wycombe and have subsequently
won away to York and Walsall.
- Fulham are three goals away from scoring 150 in away ties.
- The last two times that Fulham reached the semis they won Sixth Round
games away from home.
- Lost last 4 games - all in Premiership
- Gone 6 games since a draw
- Completed 5 games since a clean sheet
- 2 wins in last 8
- 1 draw in last 9
- Lost 5 of last 7
- Failed to score in 3 of the last 8 matches
- 3 clean sheets in last 9
- Premiership Fulham have been drawn away to a lower division side
in each of the four rounds of this season's competition.
- Cottagers striker Barry Hayles - who has two goals to his name in
this season's competition - is a former team-mate of West Brom's leading
scorer Jason Roberts. The pair formed a formidable strike partnership
at Bristol Rovers in 1998.
- Fulham's only FA Cup Final appearance, the 2-0 defeat to West Ham
in 1975, did not feature the traditional singing of 'Abide With Me'.
Supporters of both clubs provided their own entertainment to fill the
void.

Matchday Referee:NEALE BARRY, Roxby,
North Lincolnshire .
Neale Barry has reffed Fulham just the once this season, at White Hart
Lane when we lost 4-0 to Spurs. Hopefully Mr Barry has a new pair of spectacles
since that day.
Steed Malbranque fouled a Spurs player and Ref Barry decided that someone
needed a yellow card so he discussed the matter with his Lines person.
After their discussion they agreed that the person to caution was, yes
that right, Louis Saha! It's an easy mistake to make. (pictures)
Fortunately the F.A. stepped in to rectify the situation and hopefully
also checked that Mr Barry's guide dog would do better in future.
