Unfairness of Refs starts to bite

last updated Friday 29th December 2000, 6:43 PM

Fulham have moved up to third place in the Not-So-Fair Nationwide Fairplay League, with an average of 12.7 points per games and still the highest number of yellow cards per foul ratio in the Division (see the final column in the table below).

The variation in how Referees apply the rules of the game between Fulham and the other Nationwide squads is starting to bite. Both Sean Davis and Fabrice Fernandes collected their fifth yellow in the Watford game and therefore face suspension for the Man Utd game. An unhappy situation for the two youngsters and the club but one that will become more common as the season progresses
