Fulham boss Martin Jol and Roy Hodgson have both rejected speculation linking West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie with a switch to Fulham.
Reports on Friday morning suggested the Cottagers were preparing a bid for the Nigeria international, involving £3million in cash plus Chris Baird and Damien Duff in exchange.
But West Brom boss Hodgson, who previously revealed there had been a 'semi-jocular' loan approach for the striker, insists last season's top scorer is not a player they are looking to sell.
He told the club's official website: "There is no truth in it.
"We've had no contact with Fulham, or any other club for that matter, regarding Odemwingie.
"He is not a player we are looking to sell. That story is a bit of a waste of breath to be perfectly honest."
Fulham counterpart Jol also said the speculation had no basis, commenting: "There is no truth in that. We have been quiet so far.
"We do not comment on players going out and coming in. You have to wait and see until the end of January."
