Chris Coleman has revealed that new boss Jean Tigana is the
strong, silent type - hardly saying a word in his team talks.
Welsh star Coleman, who has just signed a new four-year contract
with the club, says French legend Tigana talks for barely 60 seconds
before games and at half time.
Both manager and players are pleased with the club's pre-season
games - which continued with Saturday's win against the Indian
national side.
Coleman said: 'Pre-season has been good, and we have been training
three times a day, which has been hard. But Jean Tigana is an
excellent coach and the players are all very impressed with him.
'He doesn't talk much - they're very short team talks. That's
good, because it shows he is confident and that rubs off on the
players.'
Fulham's gruelling training regime begins at 6.30am with a run
before further training sessions are held at 10am and again at
5pm.
Coleman explained: 'We won't be training three times a day in
the season, but this hasn't all been exhausting - there has been
a lot of individual coaching with plenty of talking and new ideas.'
