Louis Saha insists that Fulham will not be overawed
when they line up against runaway Premiership leaders Manchester United.
The Reds have been all but unstoppable this season, yet the country’s top goalscorer
is adamant that Fulham will just be treating it as a normal game.
Saha told France Football: “Manchester is a myth. It will be very special,
but I don`t blow this match out of all proportion. “For us, it is a kind of benchmark
- just as the match against Liverpool. We will play in a very relaxed frame of
mind.”
The Frenchman is thrilled at the way his career has taken off in the Nationwide
League, just a year after considering packing in the game. He added: "This championship,
with a lot of physical play and a few tactics, suits me perfectly.
"In Newcastle, everything went smoothly. I learnt a lot with a quality coach as
Gullit. Before going there, I asked a lot of questions because I played rarely
in Metz. I even thought to stop playing football. "So I wanted to be back in England
at any price, particularly with Newcastle. Then, Jean Tigana, who was my agent,
proposed the Fulham challenge to me. He convinced me by saying I will play. I
am certain Fulham will become a big club."
