Sheffield United have confirmed they are interested in keeping Fulham defender Jon Harley on loan at Bramall Lane, but admit they have `no chance' of making it a permanent move.

Harley has impressed everyone at the club with his performances since arriving from west London in early November and manager Neil Warnock has admitted he would love to keep him in South Yorkshire.

However, while Harley is enjoying life with his new club, it seems that the chances of fans seeing him in a Blades shirt for good are slim to none.

A club spokesman said: `Jon Harley has made it clear he is loving it here, but Neil Warnock has admitted we have no chance of doing a permanent deal with Fulham. He`s still got over two years of his contract remaining and we can`t get near to what he`s on.

`Although we wouldn`t rule it out, it would take something ridiculous to happen for us to be able to bring him here for good at the moment.'

Harley joined Fulham in a £3.5m switch from neighbours Chelsea in August 2001, but the move has not worked out as expected and the former England Under-21 international has only made 17 appearances for the Cottagers after failing to dislodge Rufus Brevett from the starting line-up.
