The Danish midfielder suffered a hamstring tear against Aston Villa last month, and, although he is making steady progress, he will not be ready to return for the next fortnight.

Collins John, who picked up a small muscle tear against Newcastle, will be sidelined for three weeks.

Chelsea have doubts over midfielder Joe Cole and goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini ahead of the west London derby at Fulham.

Both players have gone down with a minor illness and are running high temperatures. Manager Jose Mourinho will await a fitness report on Saturday before deciding whether to include them in his chosen 16.

Chelsea have no other new injury worries with Alexei Smertin fit again after a recent groin problem.

However, striker Didier Drogba is still out with a groin injury but is expected to be back in action within 10 to 15 days.
