France played Slovenia in a Euro 2004 qualifier on Saturday night at the Stade de France and hammered the visitors 5-0 with two goals from Steve and one each from Viera, Wiltord and Govou.

Steve scored in the 35th and 65th minute and after the match he said " It was a terrific evening for me and the team, this was a festival of offensive football and I am happy to have played a part with my two goals. The most important point was the manner and the way the team played. It didn't trouble me to play center-forward as I played in this position at Lyons and I play in it at Fulham.

France now head Group One with 6 points from two games and go to Malta on Wednesday evening.
