Fulham forward Seol Ki-Hyeon has had his contract at Craven Cottage cancelled by mutual consent.
The 31-year-old South Korean made only five appearances for Fulham this season and is keen to find regular first-team football with a World Cup approaching.
"Seol has been a good servant," said boss Roy Hodgson. "He's been here longer than me and whenever called upon he's gone out and done his best.
"He just hasn't convinced me he should be playing week-in, week-out."
Hodgson did not reveal whether Seol has a new club lined up, but the former Reading star will be desperate to play in his third World Cup finals in South Africa in the summer.
"He's had one or two spells in the team when he performed well, but unfortunately during those two years I didn't pick him as the number one name on the list," added Hodgson.
"As a result we're worried that if he doesn't take this opportunity and things don't change in the next four or five months he will miss out on his World Cup place.
"That would be a great pity because he has the quality to play in the South Korean team in the World Cup campaign. I wish him well."
