Sean Davis of Fulham, selected to play for the England U21 squad
in Italy this evening, failed to get on the pitch as the match was stopped after
11 minutes by thick fog shrouding Stadio Brianteo.
It was touch and go as to whether Bulgarian referee Atanas Uzunov should have
allowed the game to start at all as none of the playing surface was visible
from the stands at kick-off time.
It quickly became evident that it was impossible to play and the match was stopped.
Hopefully Sean will get another chance to show his talent on a future occasion.
