LOUIS SAHA has admitted that he was initially unimpressed with Fulham but both he and John Collins have no regrets about moving to the Nationwide League to help inspire The Cottagers to a fabulous 100 percent start to the campaign.
Former Metz flyer Saha, who had a loan spell at Newcastle earlier in his career, is the top scorer in England, after hammering home ten goals already, and it is clear that he is capable of making the step up to The Premiership.
With interest from a number of other clubs, it took some persuading before the lively attacker accepted Jean Tigana's proposal during the summer.
"After Tigana's invitation, I came to see Fulham play against Huddersfield and I didn't think it was a very good level," admitted Saha.
"This match really didn't motivate me but the coach was insistent.
"I knew him very well and I knew that, anyway, I would improve myself with him. He gave me guarantees and, today, I can see he didn't lie.
"I really don't regret my choice. I get my kicks!"
Saha has also revealed there is a slight division in the dressing room at Craven Cottage, in terms of the personality of the French and English group of players, but that everybody is working together and geared towards promotion to the top flight.
"My success was also facilitated by the presence of several Frenchmen," he added. "We live in a fantastic atmosphere and the Englishmen are true to their image.
"Their state of mind is different from the French one. Here the elders really do everything to help the young ones to integrate themselves."
Collins is also enjoying life in West London, after moving from Everton during the close season.
"The fans don't recognise their team and are enthusiastic about the attacking game," he told France Football.
"They forget the kick and rush style, which is still the norm in Division One, to adopt our new way to play.
"Yet, I can tell you they were sceptical at the beginning. Fulham now begins to become a reference point.
"Since the start of the season, we have appeared twice live on Sky Sports. All of England talks about us and people are becoming more and more curious.
"I hesitated before moving down to Division One but I don't regret my decision."
