Former Fulham striker Louis Saha believes he has found a miracle treatment to his chronic knee problems - leeches from Guadeloupe.
The Everton striker has had his career hit by recurring problems with his knees.
But now Saha, 32, says the leeches have left him feeling like a 20-year-old again.
He said: "I went to visit my grandparents in Guadeloupe and I put leeches on my swollen knees.
"Since then I've had a knee that is not quite right but given what happened to my ligaments I have to accept it.
"It swells up less and I feel fine now."
The use of leeches for medicinal purposes dates back more than 5,000 years to ancient Egypt.
Saha is in line to win his 19th cap for France against Belarus tomorrow.
He last played in a friendly against Greece nearly four years ago but then got injured.
The striker was called up to to face Spain in March but did not play.
