Fulham manager Roy Hodgson says Jimmy
Bullard hasn't been missed since leaving the club in January. Hodgson sold
Bullard to Hull for £5m after the midfielder demanded a massive pay-rise.
But
the 30-year-old misses out on a return to his former club on Wednesday night
after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury and could be out for up to nine
months.
And Hodgson says Dickson Etuhu's impact in central midfield means Bullard's
departure has had no impact on his side.
"We all knew that when Jimmy left we were losing a good player and that the
team would be a good player short," said Hodgson, whose team are riding
high in ninth.
"But we knew we had people who could step up to the plate, as Dickson Etuhu
has certainly done.
"I don't think our form has dipped at all (since Bullard left), and the
quality of play hasn't - we still play attractive, passing football and are an
offensive team."
But Hodgson admits he is worried his wafer-thin squad could struggle in the
final two months of the season if they pick up any injuries.
He added: "The size of our squad would bother me a little bit. I'm aware
we're on that little edge (between top and bottom half of the table).
"If we lost a couple of players we don't have that capacity to replace them
as some other teams."
