Ex-Fulham Geoff Horsfield

West Brom manager Bryan Robson is optimistic striker Geoff Horsfield will be fit to face his former club Fulham in Sunday's Premiership encounter at Craven Cottage.

Horsfield gave Albion an injury scare when he limped out of Saturday's 2-0 FA Cup win at Preston with a hamstring setback.

But Robson is confident the former Birmingham player will be ready for a game from which Albion need to pick up some tangible reward in their bid to avoid relegation.

Robson said: 'Geoff came off because his hamstring was feeling a bit tight but we took him off at that stage so that it didn't become something serious and we think he should be OK for Sunday.

'I've been pleased with the way he has performed in recent games even though he missed a couple of chances. He puts in a lot of effort and shows the kind of commitment that you're going to need now we are in this battle.'

One of Robson's other strikers, Kanu, missed the game at Deepdale with a virus but he should also be available to face Chris Coleman's side.

Midfielder Cosmin Contra (groin) and central defender Darren Moore (knee) are also battling to be fit for Sunday's game.

Meanwhile Robson believes that two-goal hero Rob Earnshaw can become an even better player when his all-round game improves.

Robson said: 'His finishing was excellent at Preston but he needs to improve on his build-up play and to make his all-round game better.

'But the crucial thing is for your strikers to score goals and as long as he keeps finishing things off like he did on Saturday then he will be in the team.'
