Ref Foy for Hammers game

last updated Friday 22nd December 2006, 5:13 PM
Referee Foy Christopher Foy - St Helens, Merseyside Referee Foy wanted to be a professional footballer but wasn't up to it so he decided to become a ref. He is finding it enjoyable as "for the first time I am being paid for something I love to do." Ex-Lancashire policeman Foy started refereeing in 1983, became a Football League referee in 1994 and after making the referee list in 1996 graduated to the Barclaycard Premiership roster in 2001. Foy is now in his sixth season as a Premiership League referee and is confident enough to believe that ref's get 99.9% of their decisions correct.Ref Foy is up for his third outing with Fulham this season and so far, over the seasons, there have been no major errors to be held against him, from a Fulham point of view. He has reffed eight Fulham Premiership games and we have won 3, drawn 2 and lost 2 while receiving 10 yellows and 1 red against 12 yellows for our opponents.
Referee Stats - 2006/2007

It is still early days for Ref Foy in the 2006/2007 season but on his past form it is hard to see anything too controversial cropping up. Last season his foul and yellow card count were below the average but he was above average on reds and pens. In fact he was second top pen awarder in the Premiership giving one every three games!!

Ref Foy was just above average in awarding cards to visiting squads last season. It seems he has decided to continue in the same vein. Hopefully he will be kind to Fulham on the weekend

Good game for Ref Foy who gave one pen to Villa when it could have been two and let Michael Brown off when he was a bit free with a flailing arm.

Ref Foy made numerous petty and hard to understand decisions during the game, a number were against Fulham in dangerous areas around the penalty area. Fortunately Leicester were so poor that they were not able to take advantage of Foy's generousity.
