Man City 0-0 Blackburn - (KO 15.00 - Saturday - 19 November 05) |
Manchester City had to settle for a goalless draw at home to Blackburn. |
|
|
West Brom 4-0 Everton - (KO 17.15 - Saturday - 19 November 05) |
West Brom inflicted more misery on Everton, thrashing the Merseysiders 4-0 with Nathan Ellington scoring twice to break his Premiership scoring duck. Bryan Robson's £3million summer capture from Wigan opened the scoring in first half stoppage time with a controversial penalty and then produced a classy finish in the 69th minute as the Baggies ended a run of three successive league defeats. In between, Neil Clement scored West Brom's second in the 51st minute while Robert Earnshaw scored the fourth in the 90th minute.

Tottenham 1-1 West Ham - (KO 13.00 - Sunday - 20 November 05) |
|
West Ham celebrated a last-gasp equaliser at Tottenham with The Hammers boss claiming it would have been an injustice if the home side had clung on. Tottenham boss Martin Jol explained that leaving former West Ham striker Jermain Defoe on the bench until the last 10 minutes was because he felt it about time Robbie Keane was given his chance to impress. Jol would not be drawn on tasteless chants from the West Ham fans towards Egyptian goalscorer Mido in the second half.

Middlesbrough 3-2 Fulham - (KO 16.00 - Sunday - 20 November 05) |
|
Middlesbrough match-winner Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink admitted he thought the equaliser he inadvertently set up for Aiyegbeni Yakubu was offside. Fulham were leading 2-1 at the time after Papa Bouba Diop had put the visitors ahead for the second time following goals from Collins John and Boro teenager James Morrison.

Birminghamv Bolton - (KO 20.00 - Monday - 21 November 05) |
|
Booed off in their last home game against Everton, a result which left them with just one point from 18 at St Andrews this season, Birmingham hardly look betting material for Monday night's clash against Bolton.
The visitors are chasing a sixth successive win in all competitions. But, despite their well documented problems, the time may be right for Steve Bruce's men to grab that confidence-boosting first home win. There were real signs of improvement in their unfortunate 1-0 loss at Newcastle last time out. And with a host of first-team regulars available again, Birmingham look capable of taking all three points.
Although Bolton's five-match winning run looks scary on first glance, we have to remember that four of those wins came at the Reebok. The one away win came at a faltering Charlton side while their previous two away fixtures in the Premiership saw them lose 5-1 at Chelsea and 2-1 at Wigan.
True, those two sides are the top two in the table but Bolton are a little more vulnerable on the road than initial impressions suggest.
verdict: Birmingham 1 Bolton 0
