A thriller ensued at Molineux as Bolton saw off Wolves 3-2, Wigan edged a tight affair with West Brom, while West Ham and Blackpool and Newcastle and Fulham could not muster a goal between them.

Chelsea squandered the chance to go five points clear at the top of the Premier League as Sunderland's 3-0 win saw them suffer their first home defeat since last March.
In Sunday's other match, goals from Bacary Sagna and Cesc Fabregas proved decisive as Arsenal held off an Everton fightback to move second with a 2-1 victory.

An enthralling second half ensued in the Midlands after what was an insipid first period as Manchester United fought back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.
A young Villa side repeatedly knocked at the door prior to Ashley Young's opener from the penalty spot with 18 minutes left as Gabriel Agbohlahor struck the base of the post and James Collins rattled the bar with a powerful header.
Wes Brown's awkward challenge from behind on Young gave the Villa winger a chance he gleefully dispatched from 12 yards before a fine break from the home side saw them double their advantage.
Young played in Stewart Downing down the left and his perfectly executed low cross was stabbed in from close range by Marc Albrighton.
There looked to be no way back for United but with under ten minutes left substitute Federico Macheda slammed a fine snapshot beyond Brad Friedel from just inside the box.
In the 85th minute it was left to skipper Nemanja Vidic to keep United's unbeaten record this season intact with a clever far post header from Nani's whipped in delivery.

Manchester City continue to struggle for goals as Roberto Mancini again endured criticism from the home crowd following a goalless draw with Birmingham.
A dull first half at Eastlands was punctuated by just one real talking point as Carlos Tevez saw a goal chalked off for handball; a decision that led to a booking as he took his protest too far.
It didn't get much better after the interval either as Mancini made the remarkable decision to substitute Tevez for Gareth Barry when chasing a winner with seven minutes left.

England hopeful Andy Carroll found Mark Schwarzer in great form as the Australian keeper earned a point for Fulham in a goalless encounter at Newcastle.
Carroll, who is expected to be named in Fabio Capello's squad for next week's friendly against France, was denied by Schwarzer and his defenders on a frustrating afternoon for the Toon Army.
The Fulham keeper pulled off a string of fine stops including a point-blank stop to foil Peter Lovenkrands to earn a point for the visitors.
Carroll looked a constant threat to the visitors' rearguard but, without the suspended Joey Barton, the Magpies could not find a way past Mark Hughes' side who head back to London delighted with a point.
They could even have pinched all three but Moussa Dembele was unlucky to see a piledriver come back off the bar while Toon keeper Tim Krul also produced a couple of crucial stops.

Arsenal survived an Everton fightback to win 2-1 at Goodison Park and move to second in the table.
Bacary Sagna scored a rare goal from a tight angle on 36 minutes after being teed up by Andrey Arshavin.
The Gunners then went two up when Cesc Fabregas slotted home three minutes after the restart following a one-two with Marouane Chamakh.
But Everton refused to give up and Lukasz Fabianski produced fine saves to deny substitute Jermaine Beckford, Steven Pienaar and Louis Saha.
The Toffees finally pulled one back via Tim Cahill on 89 minutes after a Saha knock down to set up a grandstand finish but Arsenal held on for a vital victory.

At the end of seven days in which cracks had started to emerge, Chelsea suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Sunderland in the Premier League to add to the problems at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues would have been desperate for positive headlines at the end of a week which contained a defeat at Liverpool, a scrappy and narrow win over neighbours Fulham and the unsavoury departure of former assistant manager Ray Wilkins.
But Nedum Onuoha gave Sunderland the lead in the late stages of the first half when his brilliant, quick feet exposed abject organisation at the heart of a Chelsea defence which was missing the injured John Terry and Alex.
