Jean Tigana is close to adding to his First Division title-chasing squad, with reports from Spain stating that Fulham are on the verge of completing the signing of Real Oviedo's Danish international forward, Peter Moller.

Talks between the two clubs are believed to be at an advanced stage and the player is also keen to quit the Spanish team, where his chances this season have been limited, and link up with Tigana at Craven Cottage.

The arrival of Moller at Oviedo at the start of the 1998-99 season from Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven for £1.9 million made him the most expensive signing in the club's history. In his first season, he played 26 games and scored only twice. And last season, under Luis Aragones, he played only one league game. This season, he has scored once in ten games, but has been relegated to the substitutes` bench for most of the time and it is this loss of status in the Oviedo squad that sees him keen for a move.

Moller looked close to signing for Derby County in December 1999, indeed the two clubs agreed a fee for the player, at £1.9 million, but eventually the deal fell through. When asked about a possible move to London, Moller seemed keen on the idea, especially the chance to get regular first-team football, which would appear to be difficult to promise given the form of Fulham's strikers.

Moller said: "I'm very interested in the offer, but it all depends on Oviedo. "I've not played regularly for the last two and a half years, and this is a great opportunity for me."
