Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko expects to be fit for Tottenham's Premier League match against Portsmouth on Saturday.
The Russian striker had to come off in the first half of Spurs' 2-1 victory over Stoke after suffering a hamstring injury.
He admits it was hugely disappointing to think that he might face a spell on the sidelines, having only just established himself in the side.
But Pavlyuchenko has now been boosted by the news that he should be back in action quickly, although not in time for Wednesday's FA Cup quarter-final replay at home to Fulham.
"At first there was suspicion of a tear and I was terribly upset because I've just started to play and could be out for a couple of weeks," he said in the Daily Express.
"On Sunday I visited specialists fearing the worst, but luckily this was not confirmed.
"In fact, I had a muscle spasm, after which you just have to rest for two or three days to avoid anything worse and I should be ready for Portsmouth."
Tottenham's hopes of finishing fourth in the Premier League have been hit by a series of injuries to key players in recent times.
And manager Harry Redknapp admits he cannot really afford to lose anybody else with his squad already so depleted.
"You just look at the injuries we have at the moment, it has been amazing how it has been one after the other. Every day seems to be a different injury," said Redknapp.
"You're talking about top players such as Woodgate, King, Lennon, Huddlestone, Jenas, Defoe and the latest now Pavlyuchenko.
"It has been pretty desperate to keep losing players through injury and now we're down to the last of our senior players."
