last updated Thursday 21st September 2000, 5:34 PM
Former Fulham boss Paul Bracewell is being linked with the vacant manager's job at Third Division Halifax Town.

He is known to have definitely applied for the post along with ex-Stockport and Rotherham chief Danny Bergara.

Bracewell is anxious to get back into management after failing to make his mark as Kevin Keegan's successor at Craven Cottage.

However, other potential candidates for the vacancy at the Shay, are believed to included David Hodgson, who quit Darlington on the eve of the season, despite having led them to the Third Division play-off final last term and former Grimsby boss Alan Buckley.

Town officials says they will not be rushed into making a decision, but are thought to be looking to appoint someone with previous experience.
