PSG want to take Saha on loan

last updated Sunday 05th December 2004, 4:08 PM
Paris St Germain coach Vahid Halilhodzic has expressed an interest in signing Manchester United striker Louis Saha on loan in the January transfer window.

Saha has slipped down the strike order at Old Trafford since the arrival of Wayne Rooney and Alan Smith to join Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Halilhodzic has ruled out buying Saha but is interested in a loan trade for the French international whose previous clubs include Metz, Newcastle and Fulham.

Halilhodzic, speaking on TF1 TV channel, said: "Louis Saha is a great player, a good striker and PSG are looking for a striker.

"He is welcome at PSG if he wants to come. The main problem for PSG is we do not have money to buy a player.

"The only solution for PSG is to take a player on loan and anyway I need a striker to give more competition up front in my team."
