FULHAM are reported to have made an official
offer for Milan's unsettled German international striker Oliver Bierhoff.
The 33-year-old looks certain to leave the Rossoneri this summer with
Javi Moreno already snapped up, and Juventus star Filippo Inzaghi seemingly
on his way to the San Siro.
Brescia, Parma and Marseille have also been linked with a move for the
veteran target man but German sources indicate Fulham have made an offer
in the region of 28 million marks (£8.5 million).
This would be the overall package put together by Jean Tigana's Londoners,
as Bierhoff only has another year left on his contract and the actual
fee involved would be considerably smaller.
The Euro 96 goal hero will ponder his future carefully but is aware that
his precarious position at Milan is seriously affecting his international
prospects.
After being left on the bench for the 2-2 draw with Finland, and only
coming on eight minutes from the end, the writing is on the wall for the
experienced hit-man, and he is likely to be tempted to seek a fresh challenge.
Fulham want a target man to improve their hopes of competing effectively
in The Premiership, with chief target Jan Koller instead opting for Borussia
Dortmund
Bordeaux are believed to have offered Tigana the chance to sign their
forward Lilian Laslandes but this option was refused by the French boss.
Recent speculation has also forwarded Galatasaray's unsettled striking
star Mario Jardel as another candidate, but he is likely to receive offers
from across Europe.
