THE latest striker to be linked with a move
to Premiership new boys Fulham is Internazionale hit-man Hakan Sukur.
The Turkish international looks ready to quit Giuseppe Meazza, and he has
always admitted a desire to ply his trade in England, after also attracting
the attention of Newcastle United boss Bobby Robson.
Indeed, Robson admitted to being close to signing the 29-year-old when he
quit Galatasaray, only for Inter to win the chase for his services.
'The Bull of the Bosphorous' is the sort of forward that Jean Tigana has
been looking for all summer - muscular and with a real physical presence.
Jan Koller opted for Borussia Dortmund, Oliver Bierhoff is still undecided
over his destination and other targets have not been persuaded to put pen-to-paper
at Craven Cottage.
Sukur is the freshest name in the frame and sources in Italy claim that
the Londoners have already entered into negotiations with their Italian
counterparts.
"I think I have to consider looking for a new club," admitted
Sukur recently. "I want to play. "The Premiership is the most
exciting football in the world. "I believe that it would suit my style."
