Notts County's executive deputy chairman Peter Storrie has placed the name of midfielder Steve Hayward at the top of his Christmas shopping list.
After splashing out £300,000 take Manchester City striker Danny Allsopp to Meadow Lane this week Storrie has admitted that the 29-year-old is his next target.
Hayward is out of favour with Jean Tigana and with his contract up in the summer and he is a prime candidate for a move.
Storrie admitted Notts have already tried to bring former Derby County man Hayward in for a trial loan period as he did with Nick Fenton and Allsopp.
But while Fulham were happy for the deal to happen, the player is only prepared to consider a permanent move.
Storrie, however, has refused to be put off by the initial rejection and is now considering a fresh approach.
