Match Stats - Liverpool v Fulham 05.02.05

last updated Friday 04th February 2005, 1:54 PM
Big match facts from BBCSport FULHAM have never won in any competition at Anfield. They can't fall from 15th place, even with defeat, while victory could take them just outside the top half.
  • Chris Coleman's side are on an eight match undefeated run in all competitions, and without defeat in five in the Premiership. They drew 1-1, home to Aston Villa on Wednesday night in a match of three missed penalties. One of those by Fulham's Andrew Cole.
  • The woodwork was hit by both sides, open goals were missed and Liverpool's Steve Gerrard failed to convert a penalty in the corresponding fixture last season, which ended goalless. That was Liverpool's last no score draw in the Premiership.
  • Undefeated in eight in all competitions.
  • Won four and drawn four League and Cup games since losing by the odd goal in five, home to Birmingham on 28 December.
  • Unbeaten in five Premiership matches.
  • Won three and drawn two in the top flight since suffering three successive League defeats in December.
  • Lost 12 top flight matches. Only Crystal Palace and Southampton have lost more (13 each).
  • Won all five Premiership clashes in which clean sheets have been kept.
  • Lost all seven top tier encounters in which failed to score.
  • Fourth in the Premiership's "Last Six Current Form" table with 11 points from the possible 18.
  • Seeking a fifth away game without defeat.
  • Managed only one clean sheet in Premiership matches on the road (at Norwich).
  • Luis BOA MORTE is a double shy of 50 goals for English clubs (four for Arsenal, one for Southampton and 43 for Fulham).
LIVERPOOL have returned to form in the wake of an abysmal display at Southampton. They've landed a place in the final of the Carling Cup by beating Watford, and won all three points midweek at Charlton. Now they attempt to keep intact their unbeaten record in home league games against Fulham.
  • The Merseysiders go into this game still trailing fourth placed local rivals Everton by seven points. They are still the most resilient club in the Premiership, having won four games and drawn one in which they were losing. They've also won three of the nine games in which they were behind at half times. One of those was against Fulham, the others were home to Manchester City, and away to Charlton last time out.
  • The Merseysiders are on course to complete a first 'double' over the Cottagers in 48 years, and third in total since they first locked League horns in 1949. A quick-fire brace from Luis Boa Morte gave Fulham a flying start in the reverse fixture in October, but Liverpool recovered to record a stunning victory with four second half goals.
  • Won 12 of 25 Premiership games under Rafael Benitez.
  • Three goals short of totalling 800 all time in the Premiership.
  • Third highest scorers in Premier League history, behind Manchester United and Arsenal.
  • Completed only four Premiership draws this season. No club has finished all square less often.
  • Won all five top flight games in which clean sheets have been kept.
  • Lost all eight in which failed to score.
  • Yet to participate in a goalless League game this season, and gone 29 Premiership matches since a no score draw (home to Fulham on 17 April).
  • Won three of the nine League games, in which they were trailing at half time.
  • Lost the last two home Premiership games, both 0-1, but against Chelsea and Manchester United.
  • Yet to net a Premiership goal at home this year.
  • Not scored in 226 minutes (three hours 46 minutes) of Premiership football at Anfield, since Florent Sinama Pongolle netted the only goal against Southampton on 28 December.
  • Jamie CARRAGHER, this week, has set a new club record for Liverpool of 241 Premiership appearances.
  • If on the field at kick off, Harry KEWELL will be making his 50th Premiership start for Liverpool.
