Match Stats - Fulham v Chelsea 13.11.04

Big match facts from BBCSport

FULHAM will embark on their fourth London derby of this Premiership season, and Chelsea their third, when the two lock horns at Craven Cottage. The Cottagers are chasing a first ever Premiership maximum over their west London rivals and a third League win in a row in the current campaign, while the Premiership front runners are pursuing a fourth successive top flight victory. Indeed the match pits the joint biggest losers in the top division against the biggest winners (Fulham, six losses against Chelsea, nine victories). It also is a dress rehearsal for the Carling Cup quarter-final - the sides having been drawn together after extra time away victories on Wednesday night at Nottingham Forest for Fulham, and Newcastle for Chelsea.
  • Chris Coleman's side have struck form after an indifferent spell. Sunday's shock 1-4 victory over Newcastle at St James' Park was their biggest Premiership triumph of the season, and followed a 2-0 home win over Spurs, which in turn came after three successive losses.
  • Fulham have not beaten Chelsea in 14 League and Cup meetings, home and away. Their most recent top flight triumph was 1-2 at Stamford Bridge on 7 March 1964, but you have to go back four more years for the last highest League victory at Craven Cottage - that being by the odd goal in five on 17 September 1960.
  • Won the last four in all competitions.
  • Won the last two League games against Tottenham (2-0 h) and Newcastle (1-4 a).
  • Lost three of the last five Premiership contests.
  • Lost six times in the top division. No club has lost more matches, but Crystal Palace, Southampton and Blackburn have also been beaten six times.
  • Failed to score in four of their last 10 top flight encounters.
  • Of 20 goals conceded, only five have been shipped in the first half - and all of those in the middle quarter hour of that half.
  • Like Chelsea, levelled from being behind only once in the top division so far this term.
  • Yet to draw a home League game this term.
  • Defeated three times in top tier games at home. Fellow Londoners Crystal Palace and Spurs are the only other clubs to have suffered three home Premiership defeats.
  • Luis BOA MORTE is a double of 50 goals for English clubs.
  • If he lines-up from the outset, Billy McKINLAY will be making his 350th start in English and Scottish League football.
CHELSEA have won their last seven matches on the spin in all competitions, and ten of the last 11, and have lost just once in 18 League and Cup matches so far this season.
  • The Blues go into this round of fixtures having won more Premiership games than any other club (nine). They're one of four clubs to have drawn just twice in the top flight this term, and like Arsenal, have lost just once.
  • Chelsea, did the 'double' over Fulham with a hard fought victory at the Bridge in March. They had earlier taken three points off the Cottagers, courtesy of a Hernan Crespo header in this corresponding fixture, just before Christmas. The Blues have not lost on Fulham turf in six meetings - winning three and drawing three since going down 3-1 in the old Second Division on 8 April 1977.
  • Seeking an eighth successive victory in all competitions.
  • Won nine, drawn two and lost one of their Premiership games this season.
  • Lost one of the last 15 top flight encounters.
  • Boast the Premiership's tightest defence, having conceded just three goals.
  • Kept most clean sheets in the Premiership - nine from 12 League games (four away).
  • Conceded two goals in one minute under 13 and a half hours of Premiership football (excluding stoppage time).
  • Conceded the quickest goal in the Premiership this season in James Beattie's 12 second strike for Southampton at the Bridge on 28 August.
  • Gone 15 League matches since conceding more than a single goal.
  • Completed 32 Premiership clashes since losing by more than a single goal.
  • Only club yet to lose the lead in a Premiership game this season.
  • Conceded the opening goal in only two games.
  • Picked up 13 points away from the Bridge.
  • Conceded only two goals on the road.
