Sky Sports News understands that Fulham are holding discussions with Ajax with regard to making Martin Jol their new manager.
The Craven Cottage side are currently managerless after the successful Roy Hodgson moved to Anfield this summer to replace the departed Rafa Benitez.
Fulham have been linked with a host of big names with the likes of Jol, who had three years at White Hart Lane, along with Sven-Goran Eriksson, Bob Bradley and Ottmar Hitzfeld all reportedly in the frame.
It now seems as though 54-year-old Dutch coach Jol is the man they want and are reportedly locked in talks in order to agree a compensation package for his services.
When caretaker manager Ray Lewington was questioned on Saturday whether Jol had become the front runner for the position he refused to get drawn on the speculation.
Neither Fulham nor Ajax have confirmed the clubs are currently in discussions over Jol's future
