Fulham defensive midfielder Marcel Gecov has departed Fulham for Belgian club Gent on a four-year deal after failing to make an impact at Craven Cottage.
The 24-year-old managed just two appearances for the Cottagers after joining from native side Slovan Liberec on a two-year contract last summer.
Gecov's agent, Jiri Mueller, says the once-capped Czech Republic international is hoping to get more regular playing time at Gent.
He told Czech news agency CTK: "The main reason for the change is for Marcel to play more.
"It was not certain if his position at Fulham would improve. At Gent he will be given a better chance and he could come back under the radar.
"Moreover, he will have a better contract there."
Fulham FC staement:
The Club can confirm that midfielder Marcel Gecov has signed for Belgian club KAA Gent for an undisclosed fee.
Gecov signed for Fulham in the summer of 2011 on a two year deal but found his chances at Craven Cottage limited last season.
FFC would like to thank Marcel for his efforts during his time in SW6 and wishes him all the best for the future.
