Fulham's Lee Clark has revealed that the Premiership
newcomers are still coming to terms with manager Jean Tigana’s squad
rotation policy.
The midfielder has been in and out of the team this season because of competition
from summer signings Steed Malbranque and Sylvain Legwinski.
Clark played a full game on Saturday in Fulham’s 0-0 draw at Leicester
but defender Kit Symons started as a substitute as 21-year-old youth team
product Zat Knight was given his full League debut.
Clark said: “It is quite hard when you are in and out of the side.
We all know that we need a big squad in this League and there is a rotation
policy.
“But it is pretty hard to get used to because everyone wants to play
all the time. It was tough on Kit on Saturday because he had been one of
our better performers against Arsenal last week.
“The manager will make many decisions like this throughout the season
and it was good for Zat to get his chance. Hopefully he will be able to
do as well as Sean Davis, who also came through the youth team, because
that would give us a big boost.
“He was pretty impressive, but he will get some stick from the lads
because he came off after about an hour with cramp.”
