Chris Coleman today insisted that Zat Knight is close to an international call-up.
The 6ft 6in centre-half won rave reviews for Fulham last season and, after committing his future to the club in the summer, is close to forcing his way in to the England squad.
After watching Knight help Fulham to a 1-1 draw at Manchester City on Saturday, Coleman said: "Zat was tremendous. His defending was great, his long-range passing was excellent. I don't want to put pressure on him, he's only 24, but if he keeps improving there is no reason he can't get an England call."
