Fulham manager Martin Jol was satisfied with Fulham's performance following their win over Wigan and praised after he scored against his former club.

Rodallega broke the deadlock with a header just after the half-hour mark and Damien Duff made it 2-0 with a fine strike in the second half.

Arouna Kone pulled a late goal back for Wigan to set up a frantic finale, and Jol was disappointed that his men allowed it to get so close.

He was nevertheless pleased to pick up three points on the road, saying "An away result like that is always positive, especially against a Wigan team that has momentum and is playing well.

"We knew it would be a difficult game but, if you saw us play the first 30 minutes, I think we deserved everything.

"After that we gave away the initiative and it made it exciting in extra time because they scored, but overall I think the win was deserved."

Jol was pleased to see Rodallega score his first Fulham goal against the Latics, with the Colombian opting not to celebrate in front of his former fans.

"I had a feeling and I knew that Rodallega would be motivated to do something," Jol explained.

"That is exactly what he did and that is nice for him and for us."
