Koller now prefers Germany |

Jan Koller has confirmed he has snubbed Fulham
in favour of joining Borussia Dortmund, after agreeing a four-year deal
with the German outfit.
The 6ft 7ins Anderlecht striker had been linked with a move to Craven Cottage,
but revealed earlier this week that a move to Dortmund seemed a 'more favourable
option'.
Now the Czech international has confirmed that he has agreed a contract
with Germans, tieing him to Dortmund until 2005.
He told Belgian paper Het Nieuwsblad: "The talks only lasted for a
couple of hours. It was pretty easy. Dortmund will pay me more than what
Fulham had to offer, and obviously there is the possibility of playing in
the Champions League.
"I hope Anderlecht and Dortmund can now agree on the price of the transfer.
I think the deal will be sealed within the next few days."
Koller could, however, be too optimistic about a favourable outcome to the
discussions between the two clubs after Dortmund had earlier stated that
they are not willing to pay 'silly prices' for the striker.
Anderlecht's most recent asking price of £8million has been ruled
out by Dortmund manager Michael Zorc, who said: "If Anderlecht stick
to their asking price, then Koller will not be joining Borussia Dortmund.
The talks are continuing, but we're not close to a deal yet."
Het Nieuwsblad added that Dortmund would be willing to pay £6.5million
for the 28-year-old, who will complete a move to the Germans just as soon
as a fee has been agreed. |
