The summer speculation is starting in earnest
with the news that new boys Fulham are prepared to offer Leeds £8m
for Irish international left back Ian Harte.
Mohamed Fayed has already said that he wants to win the Premiership in the
first season after promotion and has handed manager Jean Tigana blank cheque
book to achieve that end. Speculation will continue all summer and has already
mentioned Jan Koller and Teddy Sheringham but Harte is the latest on the
list.
Earlier this season Harte lost his place in the team after a run off bad
form but has returned to the first team and started scoring goals on a regular
basis again, while David O'Leary says that the story is just speculation
a bid of over £8m may tempt David O'Leary to cash in.
This versatile defender is the nephew of Leeds right-back Gary Kelly. Despite
his tender age, he is almost a veteran in O'Leary's young side having already
become a regular fixture in the Republic of Ireland national side. A powerful
left boot makes him extremely dangerous in dead ball situations. He is also
potent in the air in the opposition's penalty box and regularly gets on
the score sheet.
