Jeff Winter (Stockton-on-Tees)

Jeff Winter has been a regular Premiership referee over the past seven seasons, but arrived in the top flight after a number of years as one of the country's top linesmen. The 47-year-old spent six seasons as a Football League referee's assistant, before graduating to gain full control of matches.
Previously a financial services advisor by trade, Winter is yet to make FIFA's referee list and needs some more high profile matches in order to make the step up. His career highlight so far has been taking charge of a women's FA Cup final.
Winter is hopeful of developing his reputation as a dependable official this season and is always a popular figure amongst the home players.

2003/2004
30-08-2003 Premier Tottenham
0-3 Fulham 2y 0r
Bookings: Inamoto, Volz (Fulham)
Ref Winter gave 15 fouls and 0 yellows against Tottenham and 13 fouls and 2 yellows against Fulham. Seems fair.
2002/2003
03-11-2002 Premier Fulham
0-1 Arsenal 3y 0r
Bookings: Djetou (Fulham) Cygan, Edu (Arsenal)
The game Ref Winter played for Arsenal ignoring Sol Cambell twice bringing Luis Boa Morte down. Once doing an impression of a steamroller on Boa Morte while Ref Winter went missing. Winter is the worse homer in the Premiership but on this occasion he thought there was nothing wrong with visiting Campbell's rugby tackle.
06-10-2002 Premier Fulham 1-0 Charlton 3y 0r
Bookings: Brevett (Fulham) Euell, Rufus (Charlton)
Ref Winter ignored claims for a free kick after Marlet was brought down and a claim when van der Sar was elbowed
