Fulham fan Hugh Grant |

It may reflect the lack of global superstars in the Fulham squad that the German media were most intrigued yesterday - not by the uncertain condition of Bobby Zamora's Achilles tendon, but over whether Hugh Grant would make an appearance in the stands of the Volkswagen Arena tonight.
Grant is a long-time Fulham supporter and was an occasional assistant groundsman at Craven Cottage before finding fame and fortune in the 1990s, as did his club.
"I know who he is, of course; I've only just heard that he's a Fulham fan," Zvjezdan Misimovic, the Wolfsburg midfield player, said. "Of course he's welcome at the game but come the final whistle he won't have much to laugh about."
Despite Misimovic's prediction of a tear-jerking script this evening, Fulham are unlikely to flop quite as severely as Grant's hair.
Roy Hodgson's side are as rugged as the actor's screen persona is diffident and this Europa League quarter-final, second leg, is finely poised.
