Fulham v Derby - Squad news

last updated Friday 24th August 2001, 1:05 PM
Fulham
Fulham's new £3.3million midfielder Sylvain Legwinski, who moved from Bordeaux this week, is expected to make his Cottagers debut against Derby at Craven Cottage. The Frenchman will feature in manager Jean Tigana's squad as long as club officials succeed in obtaining international clearance after his cross-Channel move.
Striker Luis Boa Morte must complete his three-match suspension, while midfielder Lee Clark's injury frustration continues, with the Achilles tendon problem that prevented him facing the champions and Sunderland still troubling him in the build-up to the County game.

Fulham (probable):
Van der Sar, Brevett, Finnan, Melville, Goma, Symons, Harley, Collins, Legwinski, Taylor, Malbranque, Hayles, Goldbaek, Saha, Davis, Ouaddou.

Derby
Mart Poom is expected to start in goal for Derby despite suffering bruised ribs in the midweek defeat at Ipswich.

X-rays provided an encouraging result for the Estonian keeper who at first feared broken bones, but Rams boss Jim Smith will add a third goalkeeper, Lee Grant, to his travelling squad along with Poom's regular deputy Andy Oakes.

Simo Valakari and French defender Yaul Mawene have both recovered from injuries and make the squad, but Horacio Carbonari, Branko Strupar and Stefano Eranio are all still out.

Smith sticks with midfielder Brian O'Neil despite his sending-off at Portman Road, as his mandatory suspension does not kick in until next month's Pride Park clash with West Ham

Derby (from):
Poom, Oakes, Grant, Johnson, Daino, Boertien, Riggott, O'Neill, Mawene, Higginbotham, Powell, Valakari, Burley, Kinkladze, Murray, Ravanelli, Christie, Burton, Bolder, Blatsis.
