Fulham Eyeing Fernando Morientes - Report
According to a report in the British broadsheet The Independent, Premier League outfit Fulham are keeping tabs on Fernando Morientes.
The 33-year-old is available on a free transfer this summer having left Primera Division side Valencia at the end of the 2008-09 campaign.
The 6ft 1in striker has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyonnais, but club president Jean-Michel Aulas has ruled out the possibility of him joining Les Gones due to his age.
It is thought that the Cottagers have targeted the former Spain international, who scored 27 goals in 47 caps for La Furia Roja, as they prepare to mount a challenge in next season's Europa League.
Morientes has been known as a fine goal scorer throughout his career, bagging 28 goals in 66 appearances for Real Zaragoza, scoring 72 times in 182 matches for Real Madrid, netting on 10 occasions from 28 Monaco games and most recently finding the back of the net 19 times in 60 games for Valencia.
However, during a spell with Liverpool from 2005-2006, he struggled slightly, scoring only eight goals in 41 games.
