FULHAM’S bid to sign Wigan midfield star Paul Scharner in a £4million deal has been given the go-ahead.
Scharner, 29, is desperate to play European football this season and the Cottagers are in the Europa League.
The Austria international joined Wigan from SK Brann in 2006.
Latics chairman Dave Whelan said "Scharner may go. He is an unusual character to say the least.
"But if he comes to me and asks to go, I'll say 'Yes' - even though we don't want him to go."
