Fulham to visit Forest

last updated Thursday 28th October 2004, 10:08 AM

The draw for the fourth round of the Carling Cup has thrown up some tasty ties, with Fulham's trip to Nottingham Forest the highlight for many.

Fulham fans will have mixed feeling about being drawn against Forest as the last time the two played in a Cup competition, FA Cup 1975, Fulham went on to appear in the final but only after 3 replays against Brian Clough's Forest team. Clough had taken charge at Forest 3 weeks previously and had already taken three points home from Craven Cottage in his first League game. Fulham will hope to progress in the Carling Cup 2005 somewhat speedier.

Holders Middlesbrough will have to overcome Liverpool if they are to progress, while Manchester United have been handed a home tie against Crystal Palace and Chelsea travel to Newcastle

Burnley's reward for beating Aston Villa is a home tie with Tottenham and Watford will face Southampton.
